About Us

For generations, the Order of the Eastern Star in Arizona has lived our principles of Charity, Truth, and Loving Kindness through service to others. 

One of the greatest ways we continue that mission today is through the Arizona Eastern Star Foundation (AESF), a charitable organization created to support both our Eastern Star family and communities throughout Arizona.

The Arizona Eastern Star Foundation was established following the sale of the Arizona Eastern Star Retirement Center, formerly known as the Arizona Eastern Star Home. The proceeds from that sale were used to create an investment fund that would allow the Foundation to continue serving charitable causes for years to come. 

Today, AESF operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving lives through scholarships, charitable grants, and support for projects that relieve human suffering caused by abuse, neglect, illness, or poverty.

Over the years, the Foundation has provided support to organizations across Arizona including food banks, shelters, children’s charities, medical research organizations, scholarship programs, veterans’ services, and many other community-based nonprofits. In 2025 alone, the Foundation awarded more than $192,242.00 to charitable organizations throughout the state. In addition, AESF continues to support Arizona Eastern Star scholarship programs for deserving students.

One of the unique and beautiful aspects of the Foundation is that every Arizona Eastern Star Member and Chapter can participate directly in its charitable mission. Any Member or Chapter may sponsor a grant application for a qualified 501(c)(3) organization. This means that local Chapters can support the charities that matter most to their communities while partnering with AESF to expand the impact of those donations.
